Kiwanis Club Announces New Members - 06/09/2017

This past Tuesday, June 6th, the Lakeland Area Kiwanis Club installed three new club members which represented a total percentage of growth since October 2015 of 220%.  President Bob Bertch along with Kiwanis dignitaries, Kiwanis District Governor John Collins, First Lady Gayle Collins and Lt. Governor Roger Krogstad welcomed the 3 newest members into the club while club members, family and friends joined them for dinner at Norwood Pines Supper Club. 

The club now is 16 members strong with only one goal in mind…to help kids!  Over the past year and a half, 11 new members have joined the club. Eight new members were previously installed. The District Governor indicated that...

Santa and Kiwanis give homeless kids a Christmas to remember

The room went from a roar to a hush when Santa walked in. The kids knew they would soon get their chance to tell the big man their hopes and wishes this Christmas. 

For too many of the 90 kids at the Breakfast with Santa hosted by the Appleton-Fox Cities (Wisconsin) Kiwanis Club, this would be the only time they would get a gift during the holiday season. Their immediate futures are in flux. The kids, who range in age from infants to teenagers, are homeless—living in shelters because of various family circumstances. The Kiwanis Club of Greater Sheboygan has announced a series of concerts at the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts in Sheboygan.

The first concert will be The Guess Who on Thursday night November 10 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $45 and are available online at www.weillcenter.com or in person at the ticket office.

According to Wikipedia, The Guess Who is a Canadian rock band, formed in Winnipeg in 1965. Initially gaining recognition in Canada, the group also found international success from the late 1960s through the mid-1970s with numerous hit singles, including "No Time", "American Woman", "These Eyes" and "Share the Land".
